Inter's Marco Branca: We have received no calls from Manchester for Wesley Sneijder

The denial was issued in the wake of Inter's 2-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana on Saturday. It comes in the wake of a report in La Gazzella dello Sport that claimed that Sneijder was on his way to Eastlands for €36 million, which has since been denied by all concerned.

"We have not even received any calls from Manchester," Branca told Italian press agency Ansa. "You keep asking me about Sneijder's future but in all honesty I don't know what to say. Right now there have been no talks and there are no negotiations between the clubs."

Branca, though, admitted that it is no surprise some of Europe's leading clubs are interested in the Dutch playmaker, and stated: “Sneijder is one of the best players in the world in his position, so it’s normal that the top European clubs would be interested.

"It’s natural that someone will try to get the best on the transfer market.”

Branca's denial of any current talks echoes the statement of Inter's CEO Ernesto Paolillo, who told reporters: "There are no negotiations for him. I've already said it and I repeat it - there aren't any negotiations."

"If an offer arrives that is non-refusable, and this is the same for Sneijder and every other player, only in that moment would we think about what to do," Paolillo added.
