Zanetti makes Inter return for Milan match

The experienced defender featured at the Copa America with Argentina's national side and wasn't expected to return to the fold until after the game in Beijing on August 6. However, Zanetti has now made an early return to replace Yuto Nagatomo, who sustained a shoulder injury last week.

"Zanetti will be joining us in Beijing. I spoke to him [on] Saturday in the morning regarding other matters. So, I knew he had already been in Milan and that he was already back in Europe," Gasperini said on the official Inter website.

"From a physical and a fitness point of view, having recently played all of Argentina's matches in the Copa America, he could be ready now or maybe with a little training."

Zanetti will land in Asia a few hours after the rest of the squad, who will be arriving in China on Tuesday morning (local time), with their first training session scheduled for that afternoon.
