Inter's Lucio set to sign two-year contract extension

Inter defender Lucio has agreed to sign a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2014, according to reports in Brazil. The veteran centre-back only has one more year on his current contract, which led to speculation he could depart Inter in the summer.

Dubai club Al Ahli were tipped to make a formal approach to Lucio on Wednesday, while free-spending Spanish club Malaga had also been linked with an offer, but it is now reported that the player has come to an agreement with Inter to add two more years to his current contract.Lucio, who will fly back to Milan in two weeks' time following Brazil's elimination from the Copa America at the quarter-final stage, joined Inter from Bayern Munich in 2009 after spending five years with the Bundesliga powerhouse and helped the Italian side claim the Champions League title in 2010.
