Diego Milito believes Inter will thrive in Champions League

Milito and company failed to repeat their 2010 treble winning season last term as they settled for the Coppa Italia, watching on as city rivals AC Milan raced for the league title, while Barcelona scooped the Champions League.

But, the Argentina international feels this time will be different as he underlines the plan for the new season.

"The team will give everything as usual," Milito told Inter Channel when asked about their preparations for 2011-12.

"We have a competitive team and we will give our maximum. Our squad is important and is one with great value and I am sure we will have a great league and Champions League season.

"The team is strong, as is the group here and so we will make the fans happy."

Inter saw their first chance of silverware go begging on Saturday when they lost the Supercoppa Italiana 2-1 to AC Milan in Beijing.

Inter preparing to sell Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala in deal totalling €115m..

After an initial round of talks between Branca, and a consortium of directors representing the Russian side, Inter have confirmed further negotiations will take place during the summer.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Branca said: "There has been an informal meeting and we have listened to Anzhi's offer. But because we are dealing with an important player, this is not a move that can be solved quickly. We will talk again."

Goal.com understands Anzhi have offered Inter €35 million for Samuel Eto'o, tempting the player with a four-year deal worth €20m per annum in a spending spree that will cost them €115m in total.

Inter are reportedly trying to offload some of their highest earners this summer and Eto'o is wanted by Anzhi, who are looking to flex their financial muscle.

Last week Goal.com revealed how Manchester City and Inter were studying ways to work a deal for the striker.

But Anzhi have been quickest in sparking official talks. And no expenses have been spared as the first offer is worth €35m to the Italian club as the Russians work to convince president Massimo Moratti to part company with the man he signed from Barcelona in 2009.

Once Branca finds an agreement with the bidders, the player will be enticed with a four-year contract offer which pays €20m a year, more than double his current €8m terms at San Siro.

Part of the income will then be used to spend on Genoa's Juraj Kucka, who coach Gian Piero Gasperini wants in his midfield.

Inter's Gian Piero Gasperini unsure about Wesley Sneijder's future following Supercoppa defeat

The 27-year-old's future has been the victim of intense speculation this summer, with a move to Manchester United being heavily touted, and the ex-Genoa tactician was coy when quizzed on his future.

"I do not know yet, we will think about it next week if there are any developments [on Sneijder]," said Gasperini in the press room, according to the club's official website.

Despite taking an early lead through their Dutch talisman on 22 minutes, the Coppa Italia holders allowed their opponents to come back into the game and proceed to run out as winners of the trophy, and Gasperini felt that his side deserved to have won the contest.

"We played less well after the break in defence, especially compared to what we had done in the first half," said the coach. "It’s a real shame, as we had the game in hand and deserved to be in that position. If only we had known how to control the tempo better at the start of the second half.

"In general, we had a good game, especially in the first half, so there is even more regret at not being able to win."

Gasperini then proceeded to praise their hosts in Beijing, for creating an impressive spectacle for the match.

"In any case, this was a wonderful experience, especially for the enthusiastic reception we received from the people who follow Inter and Italian football in China," he concluded.

Inter begin their league campaign with a home fixture against Lecce on August 28.

Inter's Javier Zanetti: We need time to adapt to Gian Piero Gasperini's tactics

Zanetti was speaking after Inter's 2-1 defeat to arch-rivals AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana on Saturday that saw the Serie A champions recover from Wesley Sneijder's opener to secure the trophy, courtesy of strikes from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng after the break.

"In the first-half, we were very comfortable, especially at the beginning," he told Inter's official website. "Then, we became a bit confused, particularly in the second period.

"However, this is fine and it is no problem if it happens along the way at a team like Inter. This year we are putting togther something new. In order to adjust to Gasperini's new tactics, we need a bit of time."

The versatile Zanetti warned, however, that they must learn from their errors and continue to put the hard yards in ahead of the upcoming Serie A season.

"The important thing is to look at our mistakes, see where we went wrong and not repeat them anymore," said the veteran Argentine.

"We must correct them and be ready at the start of the season. There's a lot of hard work waiting for us, and we have the time and desire to do it."

Inter's Marco Branca: We have received no calls from Manchester for Wesley Sneijder

The denial was issued in the wake of Inter's 2-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana on Saturday. It comes in the wake of a report in La Gazzella dello Sport that claimed that Sneijder was on his way to Eastlands for €36 million, which has since been denied by all concerned.

"We have not even received any calls from Manchester," Branca told Italian press agency Ansa. "You keep asking me about Sneijder's future but in all honesty I don't know what to say. Right now there have been no talks and there are no negotiations between the clubs."

Branca, though, admitted that it is no surprise some of Europe's leading clubs are interested in the Dutch playmaker, and stated: “Sneijder is one of the best players in the world in his position, so it’s normal that the top European clubs would be interested.

"It’s natural that someone will try to get the best on the transfer market.”

Branca's denial of any current talks echoes the statement of Inter's CEO Ernesto Paolillo, who told reporters: "There are no negotiations for him. I've already said it and I repeat it - there aren't any negotiations."

"If an offer arrives that is non-refusable, and this is the same for Sneijder and every other player, only in that moment would we think about what to do," Paolillo added.
